How does it work? It is a one-off, in-person event which lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. The event will involve 20 to 30 faculty members. Half of the faculty members will be those who are established in roles with medical education. The other half will be early career faculty looking for opportunities within medical education.
Faculty members will begin in pairs and will have four minutes to introduce themselves. At the end of the four minutes, the early career faculty will shift to talk to another faculty. This will continue until the event is completed. At the end of the exercise, participants will be better aware of those in their professional community. It also promotes additional follow-up contact and collaboration.
This exercise builds greater connection within the professional community, allowing members to widen their network within the University of Utah.
